Terms of Service
The service
CDLBoss provides software to record and track vehicle maintenance, inspections, repairs and related costs. CDLBoss is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It does not certify that any vehicle is safe or legally compliant; the motor carrier remains responsible for complying with all applicable regulations, including 49 CFR Parts 393 and 396.
Accounts and roles
Each company has exactly one administrator who controls users, permissions and billing for that company. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential.
Subscription and automatic renewal
CDLBoss is billed per company per year and priced by the number of active trucks (power units); trailers and users are free. Standard is $690/year for up to 5 trucks, then $105 per truck up to 25 and $75 per truck after that. Pro is $890/year for up to 5 trucks, then $120 per truck up to 25 and $80 per truck after that. A price agreed in writing replaces these. The truck count is taken at each renewal. Your plan renews automatically for another year at the then-current price for your fleet. We send the company administrator a notice 60 days and again 30 days before each renewal date. To change or end your plan, contact us before the renewal date; otherwise it renews and the renewal is charged to the card on file or invoiced. If a plan ends, your records stay available to view and download as PDFs but can't be changed.
Platform administrator access
To provide support, approve and manage accounts, investigate problems, and operate and secure the service, authorized CDLBoss platform administrators can see every customer workspace and the people in it, including names, email addresses and phone numbers, and can turn logins on or off and help users regain access. Opening a workspace, and every change made from inside it, is recorded in that company's audit log, which the company administrator can review at any time under Team & Settings, Audit log.
Your data
Your company owns the records it enters. You can download them at any time as PDF record packets (inspections, PM services, repairs, driver inspections, costs and upcoming items), for your whole fleet or one unit, and download any file you uploaded. Spreadsheet exports aren't part of the service. When moving away from CDLBoss, contact us and we'll help you get your records.
DOT Audit Ready add-on
The DOT Audit Ready add-on checks the records you keep in CDLBoss against 49 CFR Parts 382, 390, 391 and 396 and tells you what looks missing or due. It is a records tool, not legal advice, and it can't guarantee the result of an audit or review. You remain responsible for meeting every regulation that applies to you. The add-on is billed yearly, for one year at a time, while your plan is active: $299 up to 10 trucks, $399 up to 25 trucks and $499 above that. We remind you 60 and 30 days before it renews. If it isn't renewed, your records are kept and the add-on is locked until it is.
Pricing and shop data
To improve CDLBoss, we may combine invoice and shop data across customers into anonymous, aggregated figures, such as typical labor rates in an area or average prices for a part. We never share your company's own records, prices or shop list with another customer.
Acceptable use
Don't copy, scrape or reproduce the CDLBoss software, screens or features, and don't use the service to build a competing product.
Availability
We work to keep CDLBoss available and your data backed up, but the service is provided without warranty of uninterrupted operation.
